Vda Pedro is a Brazilian player who played on the Retro-PvP server Obscubra for the past 6 years. He recently transferred to an Open-PvP world called Rasteibra, where he is currently level 900 and his vocation is Royal Paladin.
Like most Tibians, there’s always a friend, family member or someone else who, by chance, ends up introducing us to this world called Tibia—and Vda Pedro was no exception.
“I DISCOVERED TIBIA DURING MY SCHOOL DAYS, AROUND THE YEAR 2004, AND THE ONE WHO TAUGHT ME TO PLAY WAS A SCHOOL FRIEND NAMED ALUÍZIO DURING OUR COMPUTER CLASSES.”
The character with which he began his Tibian adventure was called “Otis Zaridon” on the old Rubera server. That name came from the “Suggest Name” option offered by Tibia when creating a character, and that’s how his journey in the game began as a Master Sorcerer. This all happened when he was just a teenager, spending time exploring Tibia on a Free Account.
“I LIVED IN THE CITY OF CARLIN, THINKING IT WAS THE MAIN CITY IN THE GAME; AND LATER ON, I DISCOVERED BY MYSELF THAT THE MAIN CITY WAS ACTUALLY THAIS.”
Like every good Tibian, he had his moments of leisure exploring maps in search of new adventures. However, Pedro encountered an unpleasant situation once when he ventured beyond Carlin’s walls and got a “big surprise”...
“I WANTED TO DISCOVER THE CARLIN MAP, GOING FAR NORTH, WHERE AMAZON CAMP IS. THERE, I NOTICED AN AMAZON WAS HITTING ME. I THOUGHT IT WAS ANOTHER PLAYER GIVING ME PK. I PANICKED AND ENDED UP TYPING -HEY! STOP, YOU’RE KILLING ME!-, BUT OBVIOUSLY, IT DIDN’T STOP; AND I ENDED UP DYING, KKKKKK.”
Currently, his character is named “Vda Pedro”. His inspiration simply came from his real name “Pedro” and “Vda” from the place where he was born and lived for over 30 years.
“I USED -PEDRO- FOR MY REAL NAME AND -VDA- FOR VALE DO AÇO, IPATINGA, MINAS GERAIS, IN BRAZIL. THIS ALL HAPPENED WHEN I WAS PLAYING WITH MY RL FRIENDS ON THE RELEMBRA SERVER. WE ALL AGREED TO USE THE SAME PREFIX -VDA- WHICH I ENDED UP LIKING SO MUCH THAT I STILL USE IT TO THIS DAY.”
Among all the activities Tibia offers, Pedro enjoys doing quests, participating in almost every available event, and above all, chatting with other players, since leveling up is not something that particularly attracts his attention.
One of the new experiences he’s currently having is playing on Open-PvP servers, as he previously participated in wars only as support.
“I’VE PARTICIPATED IN MANY WARS; AMONG THEM, I REMEMBER ONE ON THE RELEMBRA SERVER. IT WAS BETWEEN A PK TEAM CALLED -EXTREME VIOLENCE- AND ANOTHER TEAM CALLED -HIGHCLASS-. ANOTHER WAR I TOOK PART IN WAS BETWEEN THE GUILD -LEI DO RASGA- AGAINST THE GUILD -WARLOYALTY-; THEN WITH THE GUILD -OS- AGAINST -WARLOYALTY- I WAS SUPPORT FOR RUBINI’S TEAM; THE -ALMIGHTY OS- AGAINST SKELETINHOS DE NATTANK.”
“I WAS ALSO PART OF THE INVASION OF THE MACABRA SERVER WHEN IT WAS DOMINATED BY A STREAMER CALLED -NENÉM-. IN THE GUILD PUNE; WE LOST THE WAR ON THE LIBERTABRA SERVER AGAINST -SKELETINHOS- WHEN THE SERVER HAD JUST OPENED; BUT WHEN TRANSFERS WERE ENABLED FOR THIS SAME SERVER, WE WON THE WAR... BY FAR, IT WAS ONE OF THE WARS I ENJOYED THE MOST; IT WAS REALLY GOOD AND FAST. OF COURSE, MANY MORE FOLLOWED.”
Pedro, a Retro-PvP veteran, closes a chapter in his story. The eternal wars are behind him, and now he chooses peace, embracing a neutral life in Tibia. But it wasn’t all fighting—amid strategies and alliances, friendships emerged that endure over time... like that strong connection that was born after years of battles.
“I HAD THE PLEASURE OF PLAYING WITH MANY GOOD PLAYERS; BUT THERE’S ONE IN PARTICULAR WHO I REALLY ENJOY PLAYING WITH; I CONSIDERED HIM AN EXCELLENT LEADER, AND ABOVE ALL, I CONSIDER HIM MY FRIEND; HIS NAME IS -RAYNEX-.”
In the heat of wars, Vda found his greatest joy in hunting lost targets. Planning ambushes with his team, executing perfect mass logs, eliminating targets and escaping against all odds were nothing compared to the thrill of invading an enemy server to mark a target. His leader, during those glorious days, used to warn them:
“ONLY BAD PLAYERS DIE.” (Which translates from Portuguese as: “Só morre quem é ruim”).
Vda Pedro left this gameplay style behind due to its demanding and stressful nature, opting instead for a calmer and more accessible alternative.
“I CURRENTLY LIVE WITH MY WIFE AND I DON’T HAVE TIME TO COMMIT TO A DOMINANT GUILD. I HAVE TO HELP OUT, I HAVE GOALS TO ACHIEVE. MY FOCUS NOW IS CREATING CONTENT, AND I SOLVED THAT BY BEING NEUTRAL; THAT WAY I CAN LOG INTO THE GAME TO RECORD WITHOUT ANY OTHER COMMITMENTS.”
Beyond the borders of the game, we know that rivalry in wars can escalate, which is never good. We must always remember that Tibia is, above all, a game. Whatever your preferred playstyle—be it PvP, chatting or exploring—Tibia has room for everyone.
“I THINK IT’S RIDICULOUS WHEN PEOPLE TAKE A TIBIA FIGHT INTO REAL LIFE; THIS IS JUST A GAME, PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW HOW TO WIN AND HOW TO LOSE; WANTING TO HARM SOMEONE IN REAL LIFE BECAUSE OF A GAME IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. MANY PEOPLE THINK THE INTERNET IS A LAWLESS PLACE; IT’S COMPLICATED.”
On April 8, Tibia released a new vocation after many years: the Monk. Like many other players, Pedro jumped into the frenzy of this new vocation, dedicating the past few months to researching and creating content about it, giving players the chance to discover and experience their own adventures—enjoying the game in a healthy way and finding the playstyle that best suits them in this world called Tibia.
“MY CURRENT GOAL IN TIBIA IS TO TRY OUT THE NEW VOCATION: THE MONK; I WANT TO SEE HOW ITS PROGRESSION IN TIBIA WILL BE, THIS HAS REALLY MOTIVATED ME TO LEVEL UP.”
His real name is Pedro Sá, he is 32 years old and currently lives in Campina, São Paulo, Brazil. He enjoys cinema, going out to eat with his wife, strolling through shopping malls, and in his free time, he enjoys watching movies and series.
Nowadays, he shares his content on social media, including platforms like Twitch, YouTube, and even Instagram. Although he was initially hesitant to start his career as a streamer, it was his brother who gave him the final push.
“I USED TO WATCH A LOT OF STREAMS, SO MY BROTHER SAID TO ME: YOU WATCH STREAMS EVERY DAY, WHY DON’T YOU DO THE SAME? AND I REPLIED: WOULD PEOPLE REALLY WATCH ME? AND THAT’S HOW I STARTED.”
His content revolves around streaming Tibia and later uploading the recordings to his YouTube channels. During his livestreams, he enjoys chatting, sharing, and talking about life beyond the game with those who join.
One thing is clear: Pedro has enjoyed Tibia in many ways, always adapting to the needs that arose in each stage of his life—from playing on a retro-pvp server and being active in wars to switching to an open-pvp server where he chose to be neutral, adapting to his current lifestyle.
"PLAY TIBIA AT YOUR OWN PACE. THERE’S NO NEED TO RUSH TO LEVEL UP OR USE UP YOUR STAMINA AT ANY COST. THE GAME IS MEANT TO BE FUN; TRY TO ADAPT TO THE GAMEPLAY YOU ENJOY THE MOST."
